Vice-president Latin America - Sophos
Oscar Chavez-Arrieta joined Sophos in January 2016 and serves as Vice President of Latin America. He is responsible for the overall performance and strategic direction of Sophos in more than 50 countries including Brazil, Mexico, Central and South America and the Caribbean.
Before taking this challenge, Oscar led the Partner Sales transformation for Symantec in Latin America, re-building the partners strategy practice and a brand new system integrator ecosystem based on a full channel awareness. Prior to Symantec, Oscar held different management roles within Dell Latin America launching the first Alliances organization in 2005 with partners like Intel, Oracle, and Microsoft among others. In this time, Oscar designed a new way for Dell to sell Alliance solutions through the Dell ecosystem. In 2010 Oscar Chavez-Arrieta began to lead the successful implementation of the new Dell / Microsoft Solutions Organization in LATAM generating Revenues beyond US$150MM, with a strategy based on local and regional partner enablement for local solution services. This last challenge helped Dell and their local partners win different prizes such as Microsoft Solution Partner of the Year in LATAM. Oscar has more than 20 years of experience developing new ways to do businesses in Latin America, always with and through Partners in different industries with multinational companies like Scania and Colgate Palmolive.
During his leadership, Sophos Latin America has grown ten times more than the security industry, four times faster than the company. He has localized all the operations and resources in country and transformed the Sophos Latin America business to a 100% Channels oriented strategy.
Oscar studied Economy at FHS in Kempten, Germany an obtained a Masters in Marketing and Comercial Management from IPE in Spain.
Oscar has lived in Europe, Panama, Peru, Argentina, Brazil and today in Fort Lauderdale, speaks four languages and is a passionate tennis fan, avid runner and bowling player.
